Who can benefit from Osteopathic Treatment?
Everyone! Osteopathy is a gentle form of therapy that works with the body to re-establish proper motion and facilitate healing. Some common issues that we see at Axiom include back pain, plantar fasciitis, headaches, digestive issues, disc issues, chronic pain, joint stiffness, etc. While osteopathic practitioners do not diagnose, we can work with your body’s tissue to re-establish symmetry and motion and promote healing.
Osteopathic Treatment is also beneficial for general maintenance of good health and mobility.
Where are you located? Is there parking?
We are located at 1058 Gardiner’s Road (across from Rona). There is free parking directly in front of the building.
What should I wear for Osteopathic Treatment?
Please wear comfortable clothing that allows for good movement (ex. athletic pants, shorts, yoga pants, and a stretchy T-shirt). Please avoid wearing a dress or skirt. You will remain fully clothed throughout treatment.
What can I expect with Osteopathic Treatment?
Osteopathic Treatment is a gentle form of manual therapy. Your Osteopathic Manual Practitioner will utilize a hands-on approach and may ask you to take some deep breaths, or make small movements, but for the most part, treatment is patient-passive, meaning your practitioner will move your body with the goal of restoring proper motion. Treatment is generally quite relaxing, and should never be painful.
Is Osteopathic Treatment covered by insurance?
Osteopathic Treatment is not covered by OHIP. All major health insurance plans in Canada cover osteopathy under their “health section”, similar to chiropractic, physiotherapy, massage, etc.
While Axiom does not direct bill, we can provide you with a detailed receipt that you can submit to your insurance provider for reimbursement.

How long will my appointment take?
Initial Osteopathic Treatment is 40-45 minutes long. Follow-up Osteopathic Treatments are 20-25 minutes.
What is the price for Osteopathic Treatment? What methods of payment do you accept?
The Initial Osteopathic Treatment is $120 +HST. Follow-up Osteopathic Treatments are $85 +HST. We accept all major forms of payment including debit, credit, cash, e-transfer, and cheque.
